About Snow Leopard Projects

A father-and-daughter team from Lower Bavaria — in biogas for over 25 years, with more than 50 plants built in over 15 countries on 4 continents.

Our story

Small, fast, proven in practice

We are a father-and-daughter team with a few core employees — and that’s our strength: we are flexible and fast, and decisions are made quickly. For larger or parallel projects, we draw on a large network of partners, suppliers, service providers and freelancers — in Germany and worldwide.

When building biogas plants, we always rely on industrial technology from Germany — for reliability and few disruptions. And we solve problems more often with biology and consulting than with steel and concrete: with the right biology, we bring every biogas plant to peak performance. Biology is elegant and cost-effective.

Our company philosophy has two points:

  1. A project must make ecological sense.
  2. A project must be fit for our grandchildren.

And of course our client has to make money with it.

Management

The people behind SLP

Walter Danner

Managing Director · Agricultural Engineer

Raised on his parents’ farm, Walter Danner has been building biogas plants for over 25 years — first in Lower Bavaria, then worldwide, from container plants for Kenya and Tanzania to large-scale plants. As a biogas consultant he has worked on UN projects, among others, and spoke at the Biogas Africa Forum in Nairobi.

Katharina Danner

Managing Director · Industrial Engineer

After studying International Management and a master’s degree in industrial engineering specialising in energy technology, Katharina Danner is co-founder and equal managing director of SLP. She combines technology, economics and funding — and is the first point of contact for questions on BAFA funding and similar programmes.

Success stories

What our partners say

“Prosperity with water hyacinth was such a weird idea. A weed. With the frugal carbonization technology, the seed financing and the market created by SLP, I have now a business with several employees. This model can be replicated several thousand times around the tropics. Thanks for this.”

Peter Bassey, P.I.B, Lagos, Nigeria

“SLP together with KEPLER provided the perfect setup for training, research, master and PhD thesis. With this foundation we could build more technologies as biogas scrubbing and compressing.”

Godofredo Pena, Arequipa, Peru
